Chivalric Freemasonry provides a path for Master Masons who have received the supreme degree of the Holy Royal Arch and wish to continue the growth of character, morality and brotherly love. Building upon what is taught in lodge and chapter, the modern Knights Templar utilise Christian mythology to add lessons of brotherhood and devotion to duty that so marked the ancient Templars.

Steeped in the spirit of chivalry, the Masonic Knights Templar are men who share a commonality of purpose and belief. As such, they are drawn together in a brotherhood to explore the mysteries of their order. The knight is bolstered by the commonality of his fellows, but the order is not only focused inward. There are many opportunities for drawing the family into events, and our ongoing outreach into the community expands our circle of fellowship of mutually rewarding activities.

• 10 April 2027 (Saturday): Annual inspection. 10:00 a.m. records inspection, noon lunch, 1:00 p.m. full-form opening and conferral of the valiant and magnanimous Order of the Temple.

• 4 May 2027: Stated conclave.

• 1 June 2027: Annual conclave, election & installation of officers.

• 6 July 2027: Dark - no meeting.

• 16 July 2027 (Thursday): Annual conclave of the Grand Commandery of Illinois at the Abraham Lincoln Hotel, located at 710 East Adams Street, in Springfield.

Conclave schedule & location

St. Bernard Commandery’s monthly conclaves are held on the first Tuesday evening of each month.

Unless otherwise stated, dinner begins at or about 6:30 p.m., with the conclave opening an hour later.

The stated and regular special convocations are conducted at:

Our temple is easily accessible from the Kennedy Expressway (I-90), Milwaukee Avenue, the CTA’s Blue Line, and Metra’s Union Pacific Northwest Line.
