Commandery Up and Running

Albertus Magnus Commandery of Research No. 92 held a conclave at Peoria in conjunction with the Annual Grand Conclave of the Grand Commandery of Illinois. Sir Knights from throughout the state were able to enjoy presentations and fellowship with this unique commandery.

Fresco of our namesake, Albertus Magnus, as painted by Tommaso da Modena in 1352 C.E., in Treviso, Italy.

Named in honour of Saint Albert Magnus, O.P., Doctor Universalis, (1193/1206-1280 C.E.), Albertus Magnus Commandery of Research No. 92 is stationed at Jefferson Park Masonic Temple, Chicago. Our conclaves, however, are held throughout the state, and feature scholarly lectures.

Just as lodges of research and chapters of research typically do not confer degrees, neither does our commandery of research confer orders. Our inspections are conducted jointly with St. Bernard Commandery No. 35 or another commandery. Consequently, membership is open only to those Freemasons who have already received the chivalric orders in a customary commandery. Our officers are all Eminent Past Commanders, many of whom have been decorated by the Grand Commandery of Illinois for their outstanding contributions.
